But I just found an unfortunate typo in a Pinpics number that meant I double counted another pin. I'm going to have to add double checking all the Pinpics numbers are accurate to my clean up list. Ugh...2000 numbers to double check.
Total pins identified: 2065
Identifying Disney pins that have been offered by various Chinese Manufactures via their websites and marketplaces such as Trade Key and could, therefore, be in circulation. Anyone interested in doing their own investigating simply needs to Google a combination of words such as Disney Pin Manufacturer China. I will list the Pinpics numbers, and a link to the original internet page where the pin was pictured. Search by Pinpics number to find results, or view by pin type.

Where are we Going? Redux
Time for another "Where is this blog going" type post.
At this point, I've inventoried over 180 images, including all the images on the Dizpins scrapper page. I've also cleaned up my database so the nomenclature should be more or less consistent. There are probably a few rouge blank spaces, and spelling errors. I've verified that the total pins identified count is accurate.
I've built many of the pages to break down the master list into usable chunks for pin collectors to digest. With the pages I've done so far, I still have 587 of the 2066 pins to organize. These pins are mostly Disneyland and Walt Disney World open edition pins, with some limited edition. I'm still trying to decide how I want to break these down.
So what's next?
I'd like to get back to cataloging images. I have a stack of 30 sheets of paper with images waiting to be inventoried, and then posted to the blog. 20 of these pages are from images that were only posted in mid-July and contain many 2011 - 2013 pins.
I need to find a solution for the master list. Blogger choked on trying to save a straight listing of 2066 pins, so I will have to store a file off site and then link to it.
Figure out some logical method of breaking down the remaining pins. And this will probably result in some additional nomenclature cleanup as I verify which pins were released only at DLR or WDW and which were released in multiple places.
So the blog is getting there! I'm feeling more confident that if I start posting the link that it will be something that is somewhat useful to people, and not just a boring list of Pinpics numbers and pin names.

In 2011, Disney started releasing Hidden Mickey pins in two waves.

At the 2006 Epcot Pin Event, Disney revealed they were changing the name of the pins only found on lanyards to "Hidden Mickeys." The first year's pins would consist of previous releases, and all of them would have the Hidden Mickey symbol.
For our purposes, the addition of the Hidden Mickey makes it easy to separate the Cast Lanyard Series 1 & 2 pins from these new pins, and we can pick the correct Pinpics number. The Pirate Coins were redone in silver not the original gold, so those were easy to separate. But for most of these pins, the inventory lists both the original and re-released versions because the only difference is on the back of the pin, which can't be determined from the images. Notes on Pinpics listings indicate that both versions seem to have issues, so I'm not too concerned about improperly listing a pin. For this list, I'll only be listing the 2007 version's number, and the previous versions will be listed under their own collection's pages.

Walt Disney World Global Lanyard Series aka WDW Cast Lanyard Series 3
Note: The absence of a pin from this list does not mean that the pin has not been compromised. Only that it has not yet been found in an image from a Chinese factory.
The WDW Global Lanyard Series debuted September 2004.
There are a couple of issues complicating the organization of this series. First, some pins for series featured at Walt Disney World were released at Disneyland and vice versa. Thus, the designation "Global" lanyard series. For the purpose of this blog WDW pins will be pins that are part of series originating at WDW, so will include pins that were physically available in Disneyland. By organizing them in this manner, they will match the checklists available on the Disney Parks Merchandise blog.
Secondly, part way through the release of this series, Disney introduced the small silver Hidden Mickey icon that continues to grace the front of pins to designate them as "Hidden Mickey" pins. Some pins were released both with and without a Hidden Mickey, some pins were only made with a Hidden Mickey Usually, the image is decent enough that I could notice the presence or absence of the Mickey, and I can list the appropriate Pinpics number. The checklist does not show which pins were released in which form, and you should consult Pinpics for variation info.

Thirdly, in 2007 when Disney officially changed the name from "Cast Lanyard" Series pins to "Hidden Mickey" pins they re-released pins from the 4 previous series. Sometimes, they changed the size of the pin, or added the Hidden Mickey so it was easy to determine which series the pin in the image actually was from. In other cases, the only difference between the 2007 and 2004 versions was the back of the pin. Since I can't determine that from the images, those pins will be listed both under this series and the 2007 series. For this page, I'm only listing the Pinpics number for the 2004 version, but if you were to look for the blog post inventorying the image where the pin appeared, you will notice both numbers are listed.
47 of 122 pins (including variations) in this series have been found in images.

Next up, blog posts for sub-types!
So I started building the pages that are linked on the top of this blog. And quickly realized that the amount of data I need to present is far larger than I should be doing on those pages.
So new plan.
Like the boring image inventory posts, I will need to do blog posts for each of the sub-types. Then in the pages, I can simply link to all the blog posts. Far less data for people to try to digest in one bite, So expect lots of posts like:
WDW Hidden Mickey 2009 Series
Wonder how long that's gonna take.
