Vinylmation Muppets Series 1

Now it's the Muppets.  Again, one pin is missing (Fozzie) because of a duplicate Statler.  Although, the duplicate is very creepy looking without his pupils.  No Pinpics number for that one, since it isn't in the database (but plenty of comments in the regular listing for Statler).

Trade City CarEARS, WDI Character Sorcerers

Six of these pins were in one image, with a second image with just Ludwig Von Drake.  I've combined them into one post, since they are part of the same set.  Again, not all pins from the Trade City CarEARS boxed set are shown, so not sure if there are others that have been scrapped or not.

At least with a image like this, the pins aren't too hard to locate on Pinpics.  But still sad news.  There are 15 pins in the collection, but only 12 appear in the image and have been counted.  Not sure if that means the other 3 haven't been scrapped, or just not photographed.

Japan Disney on Ice 20th Anniversary

Another listing I wasn't quite sure what to do with.  This one is different because the pins are displayed on the product card.  However, 2 pins (Donald and Pinocchio) are shown twice.  Is it a mistake in the photo, and if you bought this listing, would you get duplicates?  In the released version, there were 2 different pins, but since they aren't shown in this photo, they are not included.  Two other pins have Pinpics entries with different years.  Since I am unable to determine which year is pictured, both Pinpics numbers are included.

Three unknown Mickey sports pins

While putting this project together, I have stumbled upon listings that I wasn't entirely sure what to do with.  These pins were in an image being sold by the same manufacturer as the 2 previous blog entries.  These pins don't seem to be in Pinpics, and I've never seen anyone ask about them.  So are they out there, are they scrappers?  Maybe they were something produced and never sold.  I don't know.  I'm including them in the list because this blog's purpose is to identify pins offered for sale by Chinese manufacturers, which these 3 pins were.  Maybe, someday they will show up somewhere.

However, since they aren't on Pinpics, no Pinpics number can be given

WDW 2008 HM Completers, plus a few among a ton of previously identified

This batch indicates the work that identifying pins can take.  There are 29 pictured, but only 9 are new.  I've made myself a bit cross-eyed trying to decipher pins, and remembering which ones I had already found.  Then the other battle of finding them on Pinpics.

The rest appear in one, two, or even 5 other images.  The new ones from this batch are ones that bum me out the most.  WDW 2008 HM completer pins.  I believed Disney when they said that these pins would only be released at the Epcot Pin Trading Celebration.  But they didn't tell the manufacturers who made these available not that long after the event.  While I could have had pins that were desired for their exclusivity, now I have extras that no one wants because there are so many counterfeit versions. This also features the infamous June Gloom pin, which made it's appearance long before an official version ever made it to the parks.

I did not mean to take such a long break

But it has been a couple months now, since I posted.  Unfortunately, this does not mean I don't have more images to identify.

I posted a lot of images from a company called Xiang Biao Bei Qi, when I checked Trade Key today, the same images attributed to them now are under the company name Source Mall Import & Export Company, Ltd.  So if you are doing your own investigating, and wondered why the difference, it appears they have a name change.  At least, on Trade Key.  If you look on the details, it gives a website for this company as http://www.xbbq-cn.com/ which takes you to Xiang Biao Bei Qi.  No Disney pins are listed on the company website.

Large list, bit of everything

I think this the largest groupings of pins, I've done so far.  60 pins, but several duplicates of what we've already had.  I was not able to identify the Minnie pin in row 5, 3rd pin from right, because of the angle. EDIT:  Because of a Dizpins image, I've now been able to identify that Minnie.

LE pins, mostly from DL

Another small batch, but this one are fancier pins that don't normally show up on scrapper lists because the thought is that they are too expensive for most counterfeiters to want to duplicate.  But we know that there are "true scrappers" which are the ones that were produced during Disney's actual order that ended up on the floor because of quality defects, and I suspect that these might fall in that category.  It is possible that there aren't a lot of these in circulation.  However, the purpose of this website is to identify which pins the manufacturers say they have for sale, not a commentary on how many are in circulation.  Collectors can make their own determination of how worried they need to be about their own pins.

A note about one of the pins.  The pin identified as 120 in the photo has two Pinpics numbers given.  This is because of the name change from Disney-MGM Studios to Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Since it is impossible to tell which pin is "available," both Pinpics numbers are provided.

EDIT: It's possible that the Toy Story LGM Alien is from a Japanese framed set, Pinpics 29592.

Hidden Mickeys from various years

Starting a 2nd batch from Xiang Biao Bei.

A few of these pins are ones that originally were released as part of the WDW Cast Lanyard Series 4, that were later "updated" to be part of the first Hidden Mickey Series from 2006-2007.  It's impossible to know which one is being duplicated from the photo, so Pinpics numbers for both versions have been provided.

Also, I am not sure what the Pinpics number for that particular Classic Mickey is, leave a comment if you know.

Various Older Pins

Most of these pins don't have warnings on Pinpics.  Nor are they displayed in the normal method of a big board with numbered pins, but in tiny bags.  However, Disney is the only one authorized to sell these pins so I am including them.  Googling the company, it seems like their primary business is golf accessories, so maybe they got ahold of a small number of pins from another source.  Many times images are duplicated elsewhere, so as I continue to build this database we'll see which ones are included on other pictures.

I was unable to locate the Nightmare Before Christmas Mayor pin in Pinpics, if anyone can identify it, please leave a comment.

Hello! I decided to create this blog after the dust-up surrounding the sale of Pinpics to new owners. Concerns were raised, about the quality and integrity of the information provided via Pinpics going forward. Also, I had my own thoughts that since the closure of Dizpins.com photos of Disney pins that have been scrapped haven't been making there way out into the pin community as easily as before. Combined with the knowledge that Pinpics moderators are already overwhelmed with other aspects of maintaining the database, scrapper reports may not always be added to a Pinpics listing. So I decided an independent listing of pins that are currently being sold by Chinese manufacturers would be useful to Disney pin collectors.

All of my information comes directly from the websites of the Chinese manufacturers, or through postings on marketplace websites such as Trade Key. Anyone interested in doing their own investigating simply needs to Google a combination of words such as Disney Pin Manufacturer China. I'm not sure how often images get updated. Most of the images, I gathered in March 2012 are the same ones I saw several months earlier, when I first started Googling.

I will list the Pinpics numbers, and a link to the original internet page where the pin was pictured. I am not sure if I can include the picture of pins myself, ironically due to copyright issues. But I am saving pictures and screenshots to my personal computer in case the link ever ceases to function or the photo is removed from the internet.
