3 Tokyo Disneyland Resort Pins

While most scrapped/counterfeited pins are US designs (Disneyland, WDW, Disneystore.com) foreign pins can be scrapped as well.

Small Group of "higher quality" pins

Trade Key gives businesses the option to list a Product Catalog (which is where most of these listings originate).  They also allow them to list "Sell Offers."  They annoying thing for us, is that the images on the selling pages don't include an "Enlarge Image"option.  There are several additional listings, but the pictures are way too small to identify.  This one is good enough to identify most pins.  However, the pin in the first row, all the way to the right is unknown.  I think it's a Stitch pin, and I thought he might be riding in a Splash Mountain Log, but the only pin I could find did not match up.

Update 5/25/2013: I've identified the missing pin.  It's Stitch in a Pirate ship.  It looks like this manufacturer also sells on Ebay, which is how I was able to identify it.  Pin 72364

2011 and 2012 Hidden Mickey Pins

Listings for recent pins are harder to come by, but Trade Key did have a semi-recent listing that included 2011 and 2012 pins.

More Hidden Mickeys and mini pins

This is another image that is only visible when you click on the "Enlarge Image" of a different listing.

I also have a couple of unknown pins.  The "Keep on Trading" Mystery pin in row 2, and the Genie in row 3. EDIT:  Found the Genie, and think the Keep on Trading pin is Dale.

Last small grouping, only 3 new

This image is the main image from the link I've been including in the last two posts

Another small grouping, this time with some older Cast Lanyards

Like the previous post, to see this image, click on the link then on "Enlarge Image" and then click on the additional images that appear in the Image pop-up box

Small grouping, but not a lot new

With the recent display changes to Trade Key, I've found that not all images get their own product page.  This image and a few others I located by clicking on "Enlarge image"  and then paging through the images that show up in the image pop-up.  So when I list the URL below, you will have to click the "Enlarge Image" to see this grouping of pins

Several 2010 HMs and others

Back to Trade Key, and some more recent listings with some more recent pins.  This will be the first of a several images by a new seller.

This image also appears at a different website.  From the 2nd listing, I can see that the company is the same one that had a ton of listings on Trade Key with a different name.

Milestones and several LE pins

This post represents two milestones for my little project.  When I first started collecting images in early 2012, and then starting the blog in June, I printed a bunch of images.  Then I began the process of identifying the pins in all the images, adding them to my Excel file, and then posting them to the blog.  This image is the last of the initial group I printed.  This doesn't mean that there aren't more images to do. Unfortunately there are just as many, if not more images still to gather, print, identify and post.

The second milestone is that my Excel document has reached 1000 pins exactly!  The Excel document is a list of every pin found in all of these images, including duplicates.  So we haven't reached 1000 unique pins yet.  With this image, the number of unique pins stands at 811.  That means we're running at about 20% repeated images.

This image also came from:

http://www.gifts-family.com/disneytradingpins.html

Update to this post (5/14/2013):  After finding the Snow White pins on another image, and searching Pinpics again, the same images were used in a Boxed Set for the Blu-Ray movie release in 2009.  I suspect that the pins pictured are NOT from the 1999 Framed Set but from the 2009 Blu-Ray release since that would make a lot more sense, because the Chinese factory could have obtained access to those molds or pins a lot easier than a 1999 set.  However, since I can't tell from the picture for sure, I'm leaving both sets of numbers.

Beyond TradeKey

Let's step away from Trade Key for a moment.  One thing I try to do is Google the company names found on Trade Key to see if they have posted different information on another site.  Mostly, I find nothing, but sometimes you get a hit.  The last three images all came from Trade Key from a company calling itself "Gifts Family."  They have a link to a website, which from there has a link to another website.  From these we can see that they also call themselves Wonter Enterprises.  And while there isn't a lot new, there are a few more images.  So first, here are the additional websites:

www.pinshome.org
http://www.gifts-family.com/disneytradingpins.html

The first image I'm going to tackle is from the 2nd website.  This website is nice, because clicking on the image from this page results in a large sized jpeg for easy identification.  Many are duplicate images, but as always, new Hidden Mickey / Cast Lanyard series pins.

Lots more Hidden Mickeys and older Cast Lanyard Series

The unknown Vinylmation Mickey makes another appearance (bottom row, pin 3).  There is another unknown pin.  I can tell it's one of the Fastpass pins, but not the specific pin.  So it is being marked unknown for now. Hidden Mickeys seem to be the most common pins to be repeated, so I'm sure it will turn up on another image down the line.

More PT52's, Cast Pin Party, HMs

Continuing refrain of more hidden mickeys, and also several PT52 pins and cast pin party pins.

One unknown pin.  First row, pin 4.  This is the same unknown Mickey Vinylmation pin identified in an earlier post.

Cutie Pirates Redux

So the last post featured the Cutie Pirate mini pins, and so does this one.  The Pluto one was missing in the first image, and this one has them all.  But only one new identification.

I think this is the first ever image I grabbed, but I'm just getting to posting now.  Several repeats, but lots of new identifications too.

Multiple Higher Quality Pins, Part 3

The third and final batch of the higher quality pins from the same source.  Many of the pins in the last two posts are duplicated in this image.

A note about Sorcerer Mickey (row 6, pin 2) looks different than its Pinpics listing - he is missing his brooms.  In the Pinpics listing it says many of these were broken, so there appears to have been a quality control issue.

Also, 2 other pins are marked as unknown.  I could not make them out from the quality of the image that I had to work with.  The first (row 6, last pin) appears to be Mickey, Minnie and maybe another character running with suitcases.  The 2nd (row 7, pin 9) may be a Goofy and some sort of spinning portion.

Multiple Higher Quality Pins, Part 1

First of 3 groups of higher quality pins.  As mentioned previously, costs associated with production of these type of pins is usually too high for the manufacturers to deal in.  However, there are always extra pins produced during the making of Disney's official order.   What happens to those true "scrappers" is unknown, but I suspect those are being sold as well as the overruns and counterfeits.

Two pins could not be located in Pinpics.  First, the large Epcot Food & Wine Festival pin.  If I had to guess, this was a pin that was ordered but never sold.  Second, the pin located in the bottom row, 2nd from right.  This pin may be in Pinpics, but from the quality of the image I could not identify it, but it looks like it could possible be of Tokyo DisneySea origin.

I'm still here!

After another longish break, I'm back at it.

During my hiatus, Trade Key changed how the links are generated, so I've updated all the posts with the new links.  The old links automatically redirect to the new pages, so clicking on either link will get you to the same place.  But I wanted to have them both, in case something changes in the future and the old links stop working.  Two of the entries have been removed from Trade Key and those links don't work.  Which is why I take screenshots.

Expect new listings tomorrow.  I have 10 images that are identified, but now I have to work on typing them into my master list and then uploading the images and their individual listings to the blog.
